贝洛伊特’s dance program continues to punch above its weight. 7月, a troupe of student and alumni dancers, led by assistant professor Gina T’ai, journeyed to Newfoundland, 加拿大, after being chosen to perform three dance pieces in the highly competitive World Dance Alliance Global Summit. The pieces were choreographed by T’ai, Professor of Dance Chris Johnson, Skylar Miller’17.

贝洛伊特 College Magazine will conduct a readership survey in October. A randomly selected group of readers will receive an email with a request to respond to questions about the quality and focus of the publication. Editorial staff will use the responses to continue to improve the magazine for its audience of roughly 19,000 alumni, 父母, friends.

Theta Pi Gamma sorority is hosting a Little Free Library at Merrill School in the city of 贝洛伊特 as part of a collaboration with Family 服务 of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois and several other agencies. The Little Free Library movement was co-founded by 贝洛伊特er Rick Brooks’69.

In October, Michael Greenstone will be the Miller Upton Scholar during a week of events that explore the intersection of economics and climate change. Greenstone is the Milton Friedman Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago.

7月, the Rock County Conservationists recognized the environmental work of biology professor emeritus Dick Newsome by naming a new native prairie garden for him in 贝洛伊特’s Big Hill Park. Newsome was the driving force behind the Rock County Conservationists and a founder of the Welty Center, which gives children and adults hands-on encounters with nature.

7月, the Midwest Conference named 108 贝洛伊特 student-athletes to its 2016-17 All-Academic Team. Students qualified by earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.33 or higher. The football team produced the most students with 23, placing third in the sport. Women’s indoor track and baseball also captured third place in their sports.

The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education named its Educational Fundraising Awards 6月. 贝洛伊特 was one of 89 schools, out of 554 eligible institutions, to receive this national award, given to U.S. institutions for overall performance and improvement in educational fundraising programs.

For the fifth consecutive season, the men’s basketball team, under head coach Brian Vraney, received the National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award for its 2016-17 season. The honor recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the season.
